Engenius becomes the first Tesla Energy Certified Installer on the Isle of Wight
The world currently consumes 20 trillion kWh of energy annually. That’s enough energy to power a family home for 1.8 billion years or supply energy to a nuclear power plant for 2,300 years or launch the Falcon 9 rocket 17 million times over.
With Tesla Energy, Tesla is amplifying its efforts to accelerate the move away from fossil fuels to a sustainable energy future with Tesla batteries, enabling homes, business, and utilities to store sustainable and renewable energy to manage power demand, provide backup power and increase grid resilience.
Engenius is now the first to become a certified installer of the Tesla Energy Powerwall battery storage solution on the Isle of Wight. Each Powerwall can store up to 13.5kWh, which is sufficient to power most homes throughout the evening using energy generated by solar panels during the day.
“After a lengthy selection process, we’re delighted that Engenius is now recognized as a Tesla Energy Certified Installer. Tesla is renowned for their high-performance electric vehicles and their battery technology in the form of the Tesla Powerwall. We can now offer the Powerwall to customers who are keen to utilize this battery storage technology, to enhance their solar PV savings and minimize their reliance on the grid” says Ed Suckling, Engenius’ commercial manager.
Engenius is the domestic and commercial solar PV arm of the Minus7 Group. They design, install and maintain domestic and commercial solar PV systems across the UK. As a long-term service partner to Fronius, the leading inverter manufacturer in the global market, Engenius is now able to offer a complete and seamless solution for residential PV systems. For new PV installations, homeowners can use the Fronius Symo Hybrid inverter to operate both their solar PV system and their Tesla Powerwall, reducing the system cost significantly overall.
“Tesla Energy is very particular about who can install their products. Engenius is pleased and proud to have demonstrated that we are suitably qualified. In combination with our partnership with Fronius as well as the integrated solar and storage technologies we are able to offer from our parent company, Minus7, we are now one step closer in fulfilling our mission to help homes and businesses have affordable heat and power from totally renewable sources.”
